Common UTI Symptoms

If you're experiencing any of the following, you may have a urinary tract infection that can be treated through our service.

Burning or pain when urinating
Frequent urge to urinate
Sudden, strong urgency to urinate
Cloudy or discolored urine
Blood in the urine
Strong or unusual urine odor
Pelvic pressure or discomfort
Lower abdominal cramping
⚠ Seek in-person care immediately if you have fever, chills, back or flank pain, nausea, or vomiting — these may be signs of a kidney infection (pyelonephritis) requiring urgent treatment.

UTI Treatment Options

Our physicians prescribe FDA-approved antibiotics proven to treat uncomplicated UTIs. The right antibiotic depends on your symptoms, allergies, and medical history.

Most Prescribed
💊

Nitrofurantoin (Macrobid)

First-line treatment that works directly in the urinary tract. Taken twice daily for 5 days. Highly effective with minimal systemic side effects.

First Line
🔵

Trimethoprim-Sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim)

A commonly prescribed antibiotic combination taken twice daily for 3 days. Very effective where local resistance rates are low.

Single Dose

Fosfomycin (Monurol)

One-time single-dose powder mixed with water. Excellent option for those who prefer a one-and-done approach or have specific antibiotic sensitivities.

Alternative
🟢

Cephalexin (Keflex)

A cephalosporin antibiotic prescribed when other first-line agents are not appropriate, such as sulfa allergy. Taken for 7 days.

Alternative
🔷

Amoxicillin-Clavulanate

Used in select cases where other antibiotics are contraindicated. Provides broad coverage for urinary tract bacteria.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use this service?
This service is for adults (18+) with symptoms of an uncomplicated lower urinary tract infection. We serve patients with female anatomy in all 50 states. Patients with male anatomy or those who are pregnant require in-person evaluation and cannot be treated through this service.
Is a prescription guaranteed?
No — a prescription is not guaranteed. Our physician will review your intake and determine if antibiotic treatment is clinically appropriate. If your condition requires in-person evaluation, you will be notified and your $49 visit fee will be fully refunded.
How long does it take?
Most patients receive their prescription within 1–2 hours of submitting their intake form. During peak hours it may take slightly longer. You'll receive an email notification once your prescription is sent to the pharmacy.
What if I have a sulfa allergy?
Tell us about your sulfa allergy in the intake form. Our physician will prescribe an alternative antibiotic such as Nitrofurantoin, Fosfomycin, or Cephalexin that is safe for patients with sulfa allergies.
Can I use this service if I'm pregnant?
No. UTIs during pregnancy require careful management by an OB/GYN or primary care physician due to the additional risks involved. Please contact your OB/GYN if you are pregnant and experiencing UTI symptoms.
What if my symptoms don't improve?
If your symptoms don't improve within 48–72 hours of starting antibiotics, or if they worsen, contact us at 1-866-511-3060 or seek in-person care. You may have an antibiotic-resistant strain that needs a urine culture to identify the correct treatment.
Does my insurance cover this?
The $49 visit fee is not billed to insurance, but it is FSA/HSA eligible. The cost of your antibiotic at the pharmacy is a separate charge and may be covered by your insurance or GoodRx.
